Centralized tutoring marketplace - Grasp App
Grasp is an iOS application designed to make finding and booking tutors effortless. The goal was to create a streamlined and user-centric platform where students could easily connect with educators based on their needs, while tutors could efficiently manage their schedules and payments.
My role in this project covered the full design process – from wireframing to high-fidelity mockups – along with creating all custom illustrations and icons.
Key design considerations:
Clear and structured UI – The interface prioritizes readability and quick access to essential information, minimizing cognitive load.
Effortless search experience – Users can filter tutors by subject, experience level, location, and price, ensuring they find the right match quickly.
Tutor profile transparency – Detailed profiles with ratings, reviews, and availability help students make informed decisions.
Integrated messaging and scheduling – A built-in chat system allows students and tutors to communicate before booking, reducing friction in the decision-making process.
Simplified payments – A transparent and intuitive transaction system enables seamless lesson payments and tracking of earnings.
Design approach & learnings:
The challenge was to balance functionality and simplicity, ensuring that both students and tutors had a smooth experience without unnecessary steps. By focusing on intuitive navigation, clear hierarchy, and frictionless booking, the app eliminates common barriers in online tutoring platforms.
This project reinforced my approach to user-centric product thinking – every interaction was crafted with efficiency and clarity in mind. The experience of working on Grasp deepened my understanding of structuring complex flows while maintaining a sense of ease for the user.
