Redefined interface for Meditative Mind App
Client and project background:
I was invited to this project by Dilpreet Bhatia, the founder of Meditative Mind App and a creator behind a widely recognized YouTube channel focused on meditation and relaxation music. With a large following and a well-established presence in the mindfulness space, he aimed to modernize the app’s interface while improving specific aspects of user experience.
I took on the challenge of refreshing the player and main screens, ensuring that the new design remained intuitive for existing users while introducing a more polished and contemporary look. Given the app’s wide user base, it was important to preserve the core interaction patterns while enhancing visual clarity and usability.

Research and approach
To make informed design decisions, I conducted extensive research on leading music streaming apps, such as Apple Music and Spotify, analyzing how large design teams structure playback experiences for millions of users. I also explored popular meditation apps to understand the aesthetics and UX principles best suited for a calming and immersive experience. Using these insights, I developed a design direction that balanced structure, modernity, and mindfulness, which I aligned with the client before moving forward.

Refining the details
One of the key solutions I introduced was a dynamically generated background system, where the UI adapts to the album artwork of the playing track. This approach allowed for a harmonious yet readable visual environment, making the listening experience feel more immersive while maintaining clarity.
Additionally, I refined the dark/light mode transition, ensuring a smooth and visually cohesive switch between themes.

I also created these smooth transition effects to enhance the app’s meditative atmosphere and provide a seamless loading experience.
